An Awesome Organizer: What/Why/How

Do you struggle with organizing your thoughts when you are writing or giving a speech? I would like to share with you an awesome organizer.  As an educator for over 25 years, I can tell you this has been the most effective tool I have taught my students. It is called What/Why/How. It looks like this:

 

As you see, it helps you start with the main idea (WHAT), list the reason(s) for your statement (WHY), and further explain your reasons by providing more details (HOW).

I recommend having at least three reasons for a simple paragraph. This organizer can also be used for essays.

And here is the final paragraph. Pay attention to how the paragraph follows the order of What/Why/How:
